China Architecture Research Institute Optoelectronic Demonstration Building

The Optoelectronic Demonstration  Building of China Academy of  Construction and Research is a  comprehensive experimental  platform for building environment  and energy systems that  integrates scientific research,  exhibition, experience, and other  functions, based on the research  achievements of China Academy of  Construction and Research in  building energy conservation and  renewable energy utilization over  the years. It is an innovative  practice for buildings to move from  energy consumption to production  capacity.

The photovoltaic demonstration  building is equipped with a  photovoltaic system of 1500  square meters, an installed  capacity of 235 kilowatts, an  average daily power generation  of 550 kWh, and an annual power  generation of 200000 kWh. The  project adopts ASP opaque  cadmium telluride photovoltaic  power generation glass building  materials on the roof, facade,  and newly built foyer, fully  utilizing the advantages of  cadmium telluride photovoltaic  building materials in strong  power generation capacity and  uniform color on the building  facade.

The glass curtain wall of the  second floor exhibition hall  uses transparent cadmium  telluride power generation  glass to replace traditional  glass, ensuring the same  lighting effect as traditional  glass, as well as good power  generation capacity and  thermal insulation effect.

This photovoltaic demonstration  building is not only a zero energy  building, but also a production  capacity building. It is expected  that the annual power  generation per unit building area  will be 67kWh per square meter,  and the net energy production  after meeting the building's own  energy consumption can reach  20%. These net power  generation capacities can  supply power to surrounding  buildings, achieving overall net  zero carbon emissions and  carbon emissions.
